We work to improve the quality of life for older adults in the Blue Zone of the Nicoya Peninsula through social support, research, and education.

The Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone Association works to improve the quality of life for vulnerable centenarians and nonagenarians. Through social support, research on longevity, and educational programs, we seek to preserve the knowledge and culture of one of the world’s longest-living regions.
Our programs promote the well-being of older adults, research on longevity, and education for future generations.

Throughout our work, we have had the opportunity to meet and support nearly 900 centenarians on the Nicoya Peninsula.
Since 2004, we have been visiting and checking in on older adults in the Blue Zone, supporting their well-being and learning about their lifestyle.
Our work takes place in Nicoya, Santa Cruz, Carrillo, Hojancha, and Nandayure, communities where Costa Rica’s highest life expectancy is found.

Your support helps improve the quality of life for vulnerable centenarians and nonagenarians in the Blue Zone of the Nicoya Peninsula.
